Working time and holidays

The normal working time is 8 hours / day, 5 days a week and 2 consecutive days of rest. For young people up to 18 years, work time is 6 hours a day and 30 hours a week. Depending on the specifics of the firm or the work, one can also opt for an unequal distribution of working time, respecting the normal working time of 40 hours a week. If extra hours are concerned, the duration can not exceed 48 hours a week. For overtime, you will be rewarded with paid days or cash compensations. All these elements are negotiated in the Collective Labor Agreement. Every employee is entitled to annual leave of at least 21 days' leave. Depending on seniority, you can negotiate several days. The employer is obliged to give you leave for the current year until the end of the following year. Employees working in difficult, hazardous or harmful conditions, the blind, other disabled persons and young people under the age of 18 shall benefit from an additional minimum 3 working days' leave. Compensation in cash for unpaid leave is only allowed in the event of termination of the individual employment contract. The allowance for rest leave is not lower than the basic salary, allowances and permanent bonuses. The employee may also benefit from vocational training leave, with or without payment, in accordance with the law. For personal reasons, the employee may take paid leave. This period is not calculated on the length of service.
