Any person over the age of 16 who holds an individual employment contract in the public or private system may participate in the formation of a trade union or join an existing one. You need to fill in an application form to join the trade union where you work. Typically, each member contributes a modest amount of money each month to help pay a union's current expenses (strike fund, travel, promotional materials, events dedicated to specific occasions, etc.). Members' duties are to be present at meetings and sessions, to decide the policy of the union, to choose their leaders, to participate in trade union and civic actions.
